“Abstractprim is Art You Love By Elizabeth Traub.

I was watching online a simple and easy technique in painting called, “Paint Pouring”. Simple enough. Take primary colors, as instructed, layer colors in a cup, pour and then wait and see. I am embarrassed to share how much paint I wasted, how many of these pours turned into muddy gray and I gave up. I was determined to master this technique. I joined Facebook groups, I watch the same videos on Youtube and tried over and over again. A friend of mine was already selling his pieces and mastered this in a very short time. Am I overthinking? Am I studying to many techniques? What the heck is my problem?

I was beyond frustrated. I thought, all these years of teaching, painting, and being the artsy-crafty one I can not pour simple paints. I had to order another batch of paints, and the mess was incredible. Rules, to many rules and to many loss of canvas and paints. One night late I woke up and saw this in my head. Only it had nothing to do with a big event of filling a cup and mixing mediums. It was actually a very different process.

One of my sons requested these colors and wanted a piece of art above his desk. Yay for homeschooling as we are sprucing up the work space with Art You Love by Elizabeth Traub. Even if I am his mom, he is my BIGGEST critic.

In order to keep the colors from bleeding into a dark messy blob it took many days to get it visually right. If one can learn the technique of paint pouring it only takes a hot minutes to pour. And then it happened. His piece was complete and he loves it. The name, “Abstractpirm” is really short for painting for days with primary colors an abstract piece. Since it was my real first attempt I think it’s named appropriately.

Each print is a beautiful Gallery Wrapped Canvas with attached sawtooth hook ready to hang. I have a number of frame options which we can discuss at time of order.
