All week long I have been sick with Covid. Looking out the windows and longing to be active and outdoors. Painting with the colors of my soul. My sick Covid soul. I really did not want to give any memory to Covid but here I am on my second painting and putting the name in. Maybe someday my grandkids will be looking at this piece and saying something like, “My Gramma Lizzy had Covid two times and she lived to be 98 years old.”

It’s in the news almost every hour. It’s meaning represents those long gazes out the window and wondering what is next? “Covid Payne” has been painful for all of us at every level. I think the real sting was canceling all our social events over the holidays. It was to be a much celebrated holiday season. My daughter visiting from Nashville, a new grandson and my youngest son Emerson joining us for a week. Luckily we all enjoy each other’s company because we were all together.

I really enjoyed painting this piece. I had some new paints and was excited to change positions and sit in a new room while bearing the weight of being sick, again. Gosh darn it. A year later. For me being sick brings a calm and a sense of peace. My body is healthy and strong. I is a pain to be sick. It is not a pain to create something this amazing with paints and brushes.

You can order any of the pieces you see through out my website. Here are the sizes that are best for “Covid Payne”. Imagine how nice this would look in your home.
