I really wanted to paint something special to go above my mantle for the holidays. I think I am my hardest client. I’ve actually wanted to do this for years. The kids always voted for natural green wreaths and lots of green branches. The scent of evergreens and pine are magical at Christmas. Thank goodness for scented candles.

I started this piece and thought I would first create a piece that could go all year long. Once I started brushing on the wreath I could not stop and I couldn’t help myself. The paints just bounced off my brushes. Christmas music playing, drinking eggnog at 2am inspired me. I also knew that I had to incorporate blues as I have tufted Tiffany blue furniture.

I wanted to work into this painting “Holiday Cheer” and decor. Something that you could look at and feel like you’ve just come home for the holidays. As you can see I went a little crazy. Normally I would have wanted a crisp bow and a crisp outline of a beautiful wreath. I wanted my wreath to reflect just how much I love abstract painting. Here you go, “Holiday Cheer” may your days be merry and bright. Just look at how beautiful this turned out. Look at all the colors and even the blues finding their place on this painting.
