Ever since I could remember I have always loved the combination of colors. Maybe it started when I got my first pink huffy bike. Maybe it started when I learned the Bible story of Noah and the ark and the rainbow that came after the big rainy floods. Maybe it started when I wore the rainbow dress on Easter when I was 8 years old. . I eventually ended up having a rainbow room. All of my homes have always had wonderful pops of color. Maybe that’s why I loved having my own interior design shop full of wonderful colors for kids rooms.

I dream in color. I think in color. When I completed this piece the only thing I could think of was this represents, My Brain. All that squishy matter between my ears filled with color.

It only seemed appropriate to name this piece, ” My Brain”.

A few years ago my oldest son was standing in my living room and said, “Mom this room is so you with all the colors ” My Tiffany blue sofas, my orange buffet, my powdery gray blue armoire and my yellow chest all gathering in the hub of every day living.

One week my daughter came for a visit from her home in Nashville, Tennessee. I know my house was a bit crowded and I asked if she could do some rearranging. She carefully removed all my colorful hardwood pieces of furniture. I moved them into what is now my art studio. Look at these colorful pieces.

My brain is at its happiest when there is bright white and lots of color. Now you have a glimpse into my brain.
