Engaging Holiday Style

Today I want to blog about engagement and relationships through the Holidays and in Style.  Not in the technique, or strategies of it all.  We spend a lot of time managing our Social Media presence.  We,  those of us who see the value of Social Media, are “wrapping” our hearts and minds around those whom we connect with.  We are engaging, chatting, reading, and retweeting the content that adds value to our day.  I am now taking engagement and those relationships to the next level.  With this Holiday season, I am truly “wrapping” up the value these friends, and their business’ have had on me. I am calling it Engaging Holiday Style.  Value through conversations, encouragement, education, and friendship I am now giving back.

Here are THREE ways I am stepping it up, wrapping it up and giving back Holiday Style.

1. Supporting those who I know in business this Holiday Season.

a. No more wandering the world wide web and key wording to find that perfect Christmas gift. I have met so many delightful people in Social Media that I am going to support their businesses online.

b. Tailoring my Christmas list with the websites of those whom I connect with daily/weekly. Then tweeting, or FB’ing their information reminding others of their business. Many of us are in jobs, through Social Media, where we get paid to do this. However I have always said that it costs nothing to be friends. So as a friend I will be doing this A LOT during this important shopping month. Now giving a great meaning to Holiday Style.

2. Fan Page Connecting to those whom I want to get to know more.

a. Not just “liking” a page because I was asked to, but “liking” a page because I am realizing the information and value to me personally and professionally.

b. Getting into the conversations on a Fan Page by scheduling my time to allow this. In the same way I schedule time for a coffee date with a friend in real time, doing the same online with the friends I have made. It seems simple to click that “like” and your job is done, but the reality is that “like” click means nothing more than space if you I am not stepping into the hard work of another.

3. Sharing with some of my online friends what I love to do in real time.

a. Allowing me to buy you a cup of coffee. Really? How am I going to do this? I am older than most of my colleagues. Thus I embrace my “old-school” fashion. Sending a message, asking for a real snail mail address and sending a coffee card for two to enjoy a cup of coffee. I may not get to share that in real time, but I can online buy sending some Christmas Cheer.

b. Sending you a Christmas Card. Yes, I still hand write those cards and send them out. I spend the ridiculous amount on a stamp and let you know that I am tickled to have met you through Social Media.

One thing is for sure. You can’t take the chatty out of this girl. I am going to do my part to hang on tight to what it means to engage and build relationships. Our children may never know the bleck feeling of licking envelopes and stamps. They may never understand why I would stand in line at a coffee shop to bless a hand I have never shaken. I am taking engagement and relationship to the next level. How are you doing this, this Holiday Season?  Join me in Engaging Holiday Style.

Interior Designer, Consultant, Artist. Which is it they ask? All of the above. God has blessed me in ways that words cannot describe. Doing what I love and making a career out of it all. Starting with a beautiful designer showroom. Decorating homes and specializing in kid's spaces. Magazine covers and spreads, then show homes. Adding in business consulting. Working alongside my clients to develop a strategic plan to design and market their product or service in the correct markets. Then one day, after years of painting for my clients, a few gallies, my hobby business I decided in the second half of my life to bring Elizabeth Harris Art Gallery to life. I took my paintings to the streets and flipped my website into my "Art You Love" business. Do what you love and love what you do. Adding Elizabeth Harris Art Gallery and creating artful pieces for your home, office, business. An empty wall invites art you love by Elizabeth Harris Art Gallery.
