This is a stunning find. Imagine just wandering through a thrift store and you find this plate. Just another plate tossed on a shelf. I looked on the back to see who the manufacture might be.
I turned the plate over and it has the markings of Austria Glass Factory Company in German. This piece is old. From the 1910-1910. The hand painted berry design is truly detailed craftsmanship of early 20th century porcelain.
Imagine the original owner carrying this piece an perhaps others into America with hopes and dreams. Surviving wars and a history we could only imagine.
