“Forgive Yourself” is Art You Love by Elizabeth Traub.
I painted this piece on a very hot afternoon. My studio has an open ceiling. When the temperature was hitting one hundred degrees I kept at it.
It was perfect. Left to dry. I pulled out another canvas, and started priming the new canvas. Unknowingly I dripped white paint on this glorious piece. My perfection now flawed. Grrrrrr. Scrap it, paint over it.
Isn’t that how life is? Flawed. We cover it up with a multitude of things. Many, especially, in my experience, are lead to believe that flawed is not okay. So we hide it. Never forgiving ourselves for mistakes. Today, “Forgive Yourself”.
